DESCRIPTION
The RFSU Pregnancy test is a quick and easy way to find out if you are pregnant. The test is similar to the test used in clinics. The test can measure very low levels of hormones and is therefore very reliable.
Store the test in an intact container in the fridge or at room temperature. Do not store the test below +2°C or above +30°C. Do not leave the package in direct sunlight, moisture or heat. Keep out of reach of children.
RFSU Home Tests have been developed in collaboration with the RFSU Clinic. The tests are easy to use and give a clear answer within minutes. The tests can measure very low levels of hormones and are therefore very reliable. The pregnancy tests are similar to those used in health centres and maternity clinics.
What happens during pregnancy?
When an egg is fertilised, the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is excreted in the urine and its levels increase during the first part of pregnancy. Pregnancy can be detected by determining hCG in the urine. The RFSU Pregnancy Test is a quick and easy way to find out if you are pregnant. The test is 99.9% reliable and is the same test used by midwives and gynaecologists. You can take the test from the day you should have started your period, at any time of day, but the safest way is to take a measurement from your morning urine.
If you are pregnant, contact your midwife or gynaecologist. They can give you advice.
If you are not pregnant and do not want to get pregnant, use a condom or contact a midwife or gynaecologist for contraceptive advice.
Important to remember:
- Read the instructions carefully before use. The RFSU Pregnancy Test should only be used to measure the hormone hCG in urine according to the instructions for use. If the instructions for use are not followed in detail, the result may be incorrect.
- The test is for external use only and each stick is intended to be used only once.
- Do not use the test after the expiry date (the expiry date is on the packaging).
- The test can be disposed of with household waste.
- Certain medicines containing the hCG hormone may give an incorrect result. This may also happen in some rare diseases or if there is a lot of bacteria in the urine.
- If you are not sure of the result, or if the result does not meet your expectations, contact your doctor, midwife or gynaecologist.
Here's how to do the test:
You can take the test at any time of day from the day your period should have started, but it is best to take the test in the morning urine, when hCG levels are at their highest.
1. Collect the urine in a clean, dry vial. A couple of cm is enough.
2. Allow the unopened test kit to reach room temperature (18-30°C, this will only take a couple of minutes).
3. Keep a watch nearby.
4. Open the package along the marker line and use the test stick
as soon as possible.
5. Hold on to the stained part of the stick. Dip the other end with the arrows pointing downwards into the urine. Do not dip it deeper than the max line. After 5 seconds, remove the stick and place it on a clean, dry surface.
6. Wait 5 minutes and leave the stick in place. The stick will show one or two coloured lines against a light background next to the stained part. The result must be checked within 30 minutes.
